The Catalog

What We Trade

Fly ash and zinc ash are exported worldwide. The rest of the book is traded within India. Everything is listed below — jump to a category or keep scrolling.

01 · Export

Fly Ash

The fine, powder-like residue left when pulverised coal is burned in a thermal power station — a grey amorphous powder, rich in silica and alumina and spherical in shape. Its properties vary with the coal burned and the efficiency of combustion, which is why we classify every consignment rather than ship it as raw ash.

Source

Source of Fly Ash

Dry ash is drawn from the electrostatic precipitator hoppers of the thermal station, kept apart from bottom ash and pond ash from the moment it is collected.

Class F fly ash, a fine grey powder
Export · Low Calcium

Fly Ash — Class F

From older, harder coals. Low in calcium and rich in silica and alumina; pozzolanic, so it needs a cementing agent to react. Suited to structural concrete in coastal or sulphate-rich conditions.

Class C fly ash, a fine grey powder
Export · High Calcium

Fly Ash — Class C

From younger, softer coals. Higher in calcium and containing free lime, so it is both pozzolanic and self-cementing. Suited to rapid construction and road base stabilisation.

Bottom ash, a heap of the coarse dark grey fraction from the boiler furnace
Domestic · Coarse Grade

Bottom Ash

The coarse, heavier particles collected at the bottom of the boiler furnace. Higher in unburnt carbon, with no pozzolanic property, so it is supplied as a separate grade.

Domestic · Recovered

Pond Ash

Fly ash and bottom ash carried as slurry to the ash dyke and recovered from there for bulk civil work — land fill, mine fill and road laying.

The international testing standards our fly ash is graded against. A test certificate is issued against the lot before despatch.

02 · Export

Zinc Ash

A powdery byproduct formed on the surface of molten zinc during hot-dip galvanisation and metal smelting — metallic zinc particles, zinc oxide and trace impurities.

Exported alongside fly ash, and stocked under cover so a consignment can be drawn against at short notice.

Minerals & Ore

Traded within the domestic market and moved on the same sourcing and haulage the export side is built on. Grade and quantity are confirmed against your enquiry.

Coal, black lumps of varying size
Domestic

Coal

Thermal and industrial grades, supplied to specification.

Iron ore, a heap of red-brown crushed rock
Domestic

Iron Ore

Lumps and fines out of Odisha’s ore belt.

Limestone, pale grey crushed aggregate
Domestic

Lime Stone

Crushed and sized for cement, steel and construction use.

Manganese ore, metallic grey angular lumps
Domestic

Manganese

Ore for ferro-alloy and steel making.

Bauxite, a heap of reddish-brown nodular ore
Domestic

Bauxite

Ore for alumina, refractory and abrasive use.

04 · Domestic

Fresh Produce

Vegetables, fruit and marine, traded within India on the sourcing and haulage the export book already runs on. All of it follows a season, so variety, pack and quantity are settled against each enquiry.

Vegetables

Sweet potatoes, rows of red-skinned tubers laid out after lifting
Domestic · Bulk

Sweet Potato

Odisha grows close to a third of India’s crop — more than any other state. Red-skinned, cured after lifting so it travels without scuffing.

  • Kharif June to August, rabi October to December
  • Cured four to seven days before packing
Fresh drumsticks, long green moringa pods packed upright in a carton
Domestic · Fresh

Drumstick

Moringa pods cut young, while they still snap rather than bend — soft flesh, before the fibre sets.

  • Graded on length, commonly 30–45 cm
  • Main flush February to June
Green chillies, a dense mass of slender fresh pods
Domestic · Fresh

Green Chilli

Picked green and firm, at full pungency. Chilli loses more to delay than it does to distance, so a lot is despatched, not held.

  • Slender and short hot types, sorted to one length
  • Year round, heaviest November to March
Pumpkins, mottled green skins stacked with two cut open to show the orange flesh
Domestic · Long Keeping

Pumpkin

Hard green skin, deep orange flesh. Cured whole it holds for weeks at ambient temperature — one of the few that moves without a cold chain.

  • Four to twelve weeks whole, kept cool and dry
  • Cut with the stalk on, graded by weight
Yam, heavy rough-skinned tubers lifted from the field with the roots still on
Domestic · Bulk

Yam

Elephant foot yam, lifted heavy and rough-skinned. Dense, with little on it to bruise, so it moves in bulk.

  • Harvested January and February
  • Sized by corm weight, graded whole

Common Questions

Fly Ash and Zinc Ash — Answered

Short answers on grades, standards, packing and shipping. Anything not covered here, ask the export desk.

What does Jay Jagannath Marine Eximss export?

We export fly ash (Class F and Class C) and zinc ash from Cuttack, Odisha, India. Bottom ash, pond ash, minerals, ore, marine products, fruits and vegetables are traded within India.

What is the difference between Class F and Class C fly ash?

Class F comes from older, harder coals: it is low in calcium and rich in silica and alumina, and is pozzolanic, so it needs a cementing agent to react. It suits structural concrete in coastal or sulphate-rich conditions. Class C comes from younger, softer coals: it is higher in calcium and contains free lime, so it is both pozzolanic and self-cementing, which suits rapid construction and road base stabilisation.

Which standards is your fly ash graded against?

ASTM C618 (United States), BS EN 450-1 (Europe) and IS 3812 (India). The maximum residue on the 45 μm sieve is 12% for BS EN 450-1 Category S and 34% for ASTM C618 Class F and IS 3812 Part 1. Samples and test certificates are available prior to contract, and a test certificate is issued against the lot before despatch.

How is the fly ash classified?

Dry ash is drawn from the electrostatic precipitator hoppers of the thermal station and kept apart from bottom ash and pond ash. It is then air classified to separate the fine fraction, tested for fineness, and certified before release, so each consignment is a graded product with a test certificate.

What is zinc ash and what is it used for?

Zinc ash is a powdery byproduct formed on the surface of molten zinc during hot-dip galvanisation and metal smelting, made up of metallic zinc particles, zinc oxide and trace impurities. It is used for zinc sulphate and fertilisers, zinc oxide production and metal recycling.

How is the ash packed for shipment?

In 50 kg machine-stitched bags, in 1000 kg and 1500 kg jumbo bags (FIBC), or as loose bulk in bulkers.

Who buys fly ash?

Cement manufacturers, brick plants, ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants, and builders for slabs and concreting.

Which ports do you ship from?

The loading ports are Paradip, Dhamra, Gopalpur, Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram, all within reach of our office in Cuttack, Odisha.

Which Incoterms can I request?

The quotation form offers FOB, CFR, CIF and EXW, or you can ask us to advise on the best term for your shipment.

What is the HSN code for fly ash?

The HSN code for fly ash is 26219000.
